BIM Architect/BIM Coordinator

Job description / Role

Our client is seeking a skilled BIM Architect/BIM Coordinator with approximately 5 years of experience to join their reputable architectural practice in Dubai. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality architectural projects through effective BIM management, model coordination, and technical leadership. Preference will be given to candidates with local UAE experience and familiarity with regional authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Production & Model Management

* Develops, manages, and updates architectural BIM models across all project stages.
* Ensures compliance with internal BIM standards, project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and required LOD specifications.
* Produces detailed drawings and documentation derived from BIM models.

Coordination & Collaboration

* Leads coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP models.
* Performs clash detection using Navisworks or equivalent software and facilitates resolution with consultants.
* Collaborates closely with internal design teams to maintain the accuracy and quality of models.

Quality Control & Standards

* Conducts regular audits and validation of BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Supports the enhancement and implementation of BIM protocols, templates, and workflows.
* Ensures all BIM deliverables meet relevant Dubai/UAE authority guidelines (Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, etc.).

Technical Support & Training

* Provides technical guidance to design teams using Revit and related BIM tools.
* Assists in upskilling junior team members on BIM processes and office standards.
* Contributes to digital transformation initiatives and the integration of new technologies.

Project Delivery

* Prepares BIM-related documentation, including BEPs, audit reports, and coordination logs.
* Works closely with project managers to ensure timely delivery of BIM outputs.
* Participates in coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors as required.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
* Approximately 5 years of experience in architectural/BIM roles.
* UAE project experience and familiarity with local authority codes are highly preferred.

Technical Skills

* Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (essential).
* Strong capability in Navisworks Manage for clash detection and model coordination.
* Experience with BIM 360 and standard architectural production tools.
* Understanding of BIM workflows, LOD specifications, IFC formats, and parametric family creation.

Soft Skills

* Strong communication and coordination abilities.
* Highly detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced, design-driven team environment.
* Proactive mindset and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
