Body And Paint Manager

Job description / Role

The role is to develop the market Body & Paint capability and capacity aligned to the current global strategy and manage the working relationships between Dealers and associated body shops.

• Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure all relevant network data and information is available when required
• Establish Approved Body & Paint Network in market
• Perform on-site inspections to establish conformance levels of approved body shops
• Provide feedback and support to approved body shops through detailed action planning
• Use knowledge and experience to focus approved body shops on realizing opportunities through customer service and parts sales
• Develop and implement performance and progress data capture mechanism across network
• Act as an ambassador representing the Body & Paint Programme
• Manage performance reporting
• Manage and deliver retention strategy projects which may include:
• Insurance Strategy Development
• Insurer & Work Provider relationships
• Accident Management Strategy
• Vehicle Replacement Strategy
• Salvage, Acquisition and Recycling Strategy

Responsibilities:

• Raise the profile of Body & Paint within the market dealer network
• Establish the Body & Paint network via assessments, action planning and coaching into sustainable changes and continuous development
• Core Programme development
• Operating relationships with and performance of Approved Suppliers
• The management of relations within JLR, Directors, Management, Central and Field Staff and Dealers
• Maximize the internal and external profile of the Programme
• Support programme development on technical projects
• Deliver specific attention on the effective promotion of programme related initiatives and services with special emphasis on the retention of vehicles within the network
• To facilitate and improve all JLR body shop projects to deliver a market leading service.
• Complete and provide information for Company documentation as necessary [Travel Expense Reports, Time sheets etc.].
• Attend meetings / conferences when required to support management requirements.

Requirements

Person Specification

• Experience in team management and Body & Paint industry related activities. / Accident Repair expertise
• Recent Jaguar Land Rover or equivalent premium brand experience desirable.
• The ability to work logically and constructively with the determination to see concerns through to a conclusion within a team environment is necessary. Logical thought processes; also acquisitive and capable of non-leading questioning to confidently resolve technical concerns, use of telephones and computers.
• Verbal and written communications to be above average
• A willingness to adapt with change and be flexible is essential.
• Above average inter-personal (people-handling) and people communications skills are also necessary.
• Must be able to effectively demonstrate team player characteristics, building both internal relationships within dealer and approved Body & Paint network and exhibiting excellent client interaction capabilities.
• Smart and professional appearance
• Flexible to carry out market travel (approximately TBD% of the time)
• Current Driving License.
• Ability to communicate in English language both Written and Spoken.
