Job description / Role
The Brand Manager is the representative/ guardian of the brand ensuring that the development of the business is happening according to the brand agreed strategy and brand guidelines. Providing a clear vision and position the daily of the brand , and keeping track of business performance, opportunities, and threats. The Brand Manager also acts as the direct contact for all commercial and marketing activities with both client and supplier/franchise.
Key Responsibilities:
Buying/Stock Management:
- Preparation of the buying budget by store/category/SKU.
- Organize Pre-Buying and Post-Buying sessions with buying team (e.g. calendar, mobilization of local teams) and participate to sessions in the countries.
- Sell through deliverable through stock management including stock analysis and rotation (between markets) and stock negotiation with the brand including SWAP and returns.
- Monitoring and Managing the balance between full – price and discounted price excluding Outlet Business
Commercial Operations:
- Participate in strategic meetings with suppliers to outline the development plan and commercial terms.
- Engage in discussions with brands regarding new locations and expansion plans.
- Oversee store opening, closure, and renovation processes, serving as a liaison between the brand, local market, and contractors to challenge existing practices if required.
- Approve the brand mix and oversee the smooth execution of store/counter openings, closures, and renovations, often engaging in demand planning.
- Coordination with the Architectural team for new stores Layout and Capex according to brand direction.
- Maintain smooth relationships with the suppliers, brand owners and business partners.
Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities; provide action plans and follow up on implementation.
- Review monthly reports on customer and sales analysis, shopper insights, store/counter traffic, and KPIs, and prepare action plans accordingly on the product side.
Financial:
- Evaluate and enhance store Capex cost efficiency; collaborate with the Country Manager to develop and review budget updates.
- Participate in setting up the yearly business budgets.
- Prepare and execute Open to Buy (OTB), discussing and obtaining approval with Finance and Brand.
Retail Operations:
- Attend meetings with Sales Managers/Retail Managers to assess and review counter performance, including sales achievements, marketing initiatives, and staff training.
- Review monthly reports on customer and sales analysis, shopper insights, store/counter traffic, and KPIs, and prepare action plans accordingly on the product side.
- Conduct regular market visits with the local retail team and share reports post-visit.
- Conduct regular Product and Brand Training in coordination with the brand and HR.
- Ensure Retail and Store Managers are well-informed and trained about new product launches or seasonal new collections.
- Participate in Store Management interviews for talent identification.
- Coordination with the VM team on implementing VM Guidelines and related tools for openings and throughout the season.
Marketing:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to suggest marketing strategies for existing and new store openings.
- Collaborate with the marketing team and to finalize event plans and objectives.
- Ensure proper implementation of in-store marketing animation plan/guidelines from Brand Owners.
- Enhance customer Service excellence through surveys and benchmark analysis.
Requirements:
- 8 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a similar role in luxury footwear.
- Strong buying and retail analytical skills.
- Open to travel in regular intervals.
- Market savvy and experience in stock management.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or any relevant.
