Overview of the Role

The Business Analyst assesses Al-Futtaim Logistics divisions, improving processes and systems. They analyze business problems and develop solutions for businesses and clients. Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and an understanding of business objectives are essential. The role involves extracting data from logistics platforms to provide insights that enhance cost efficiency, utilization, productivity, and customer experience. Analysts must have a deep understanding of operations and be able to transform raw data into meaningful visuals. Their insights drive business growth and efficiency.

What You Will Do

Feasibility Studies, Business Cases, Logistics Study Reports on Expansion Plans

  • Support the business and management in expansion plans and new projects based on strategic directives. Coordinate with the operations team to collect the required input, analyze data, and prepare business cases for review and decision-making.
  • Monitor job-wise margins in the system against estimated costs. Establish periodic monitoring and escalation procedures for jobs where actual profitability falls below the desired level, ensuring timely corrective action.
  • Develop new logistics products based on emerging business activities, new verticals, and expansion plans in collaboration with division heads.

Process Review and Improvement

  • Review current operational processes and recommend improvements. Implement process enhancements in consultation with business and operations teams, monitor progress, and maintain a tracker for future reference and audits.

Business Analytics & MIS

  • Facilitate the achievement of business goals by providing relevant MIS, analytical support, and operational analysis required by various business units. Experience in developing BI reports is essential for compiling operational reports.
  • Consolidate reports from various operations and circulate them to management. Issue monthly reports highlighting operational results and analyzing performance.
  • Review operational processes to ensure effective controls, accurate financial transactions, and timely MIS reporting for strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct regular site visits to identify cost-saving opportunities related to operational efficiencies and resource utilization (consumables, personnel, assets). Report findings to management for review and decision-making.

Required Skills to Be Successful

  • Strong team player with experience interacting with senior stakeholders and delivering measurable results in cost benefits, revenue growth, or efficiency gains.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable insights using MIS tools.
  • Expertise in predictive and preventive data modeling using advanced tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, Tableau, SQL, Python, and Alteryx.
  • Deep business understanding to develop reports and operational knowledge for effective analysis.

About The Team

The role reports to the Head of Customer Solutions and Marketing. You will be working in a fast-paced supply chain environment in Jebel Ali Free Zone, interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

What Equips You for the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
  • At least three years of proven experience in data analysis and reporting using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools (Power Query).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to derive insights from complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data modeling techniques is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization best practices and dashboard design.
