Employment: Full Time

On behalf of one our clients, a well-established company in the UAE, we are looking for a Business Development Assistant. Working with the Business Development Manager in Dubai, the Business Development Assistant will support the BD and marketing activities of practice groups and offices in the Middle East. The role offers the opportunity for involvement in internal and external communications, pitching and various research activities.

Reporting directly to the BD Manager in Dubai, the successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with the local and global BD teams to support all aspects of the business development and marketing function, including:

- Business Proposals - Assisting in the production of credentials statements, proposals and presentations.
- Collateral Management - Assisting in updating and maintaining a full suite of marketing collateral, including office and practice profiles, lawyers profiles, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Directory Submissions - Coordinating legal directory submissions and interviews, awards submissions and other surveys.
- Event Management - Working with the BD Manager to coordinate a broad range of events including panel and speaking engagements, seminars and conferences, social events and receptions.
- External Communications - Working with the BD Manager to coordinate public relations opportunities, including article placement and coordinating media interviews.
- Information Maintenance - Ensuring that key information systems such as the credentials database, experience database, CV database, photo library and InterAction are kept up-to- date.
- Website Maintenance - Coordinating regular updates of web pages for all Middle East offices and lawyers.
- Ad-hoc projects - Assisting with special projects as required including client, industry and market research.
- Administration - Assisting the BD Manager with general administrative tasks.
- Suppliers/vendors – to coordinate with external suppliers for office giveaways, printing and any other requirements of the team/office.
- Invoicing and accounts payable – undertake the invoicing process as well as coordinate with finance team to process payments (cheque, bank transfer).

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in business administration, marketing or law.
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience in business development and marketing, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Excellent personal communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
- High attention to detail, including exceptional proofreading skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Consistent positive attitude with a "can do" mentality.
- Flexible approach in order to handle fluctuating work volumes and priorities.
- Proven discretion and trust in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
- Advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and ability to learn new
- IT skills such as InterAction and other database systems.
- Arabic language skills are not essential but would be a significant advantage.
