Business Development Manager (Shipping/ Maritime/ Logistics)

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading name in the Shipping & Maritime industry which operates in 25 countries with over 25,000 employees is looking for a Commercial Lead to join their Umm Al Quwain office.

The key responsibilities include:

- Actively contribute to new and potential business development initiatives, including customer engagement and commercial proposals.
- Manage and oversee all major port operations' business sectors, including General Goods, Liquor, Tobacco, RORO, and Warehouse operations.
- Independently handle key commercial matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
- Take full ownership of premium and strategic customer accounts, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring service excellence.
- Prepare and deliver advanced management reports, including KPI analysis, revenue forecasting, and performance dashboards.
- Develop and present management level reports, including quarterly budget reviews and commercial performance updates.
- Exercise strong commercial judgment in negotiations, pricing, contract management, and risk assessment.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, and leadership to support overall business performance.

- About 6 - 8 years of proven experience in a commercial (sales/ business development) role within Port, Logistics or Shipping industries in the UAE
- Strong understanding of multi-sector commercial operations, preferably within a port or terminal environment.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage senior customer accounts and complex commercial matters.
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills, with experience preparing senior management and Board-level reports.
- Strong negotiation, risk assessment, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Arabic is NOT a must

Salary:
AED 18,000 to 21,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
