As an Amazon Business Analyst you will be working in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments. You should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of extremely large datasets. This high impact role will have an opportunity to help design and build our data infrastructure from the ground up, work with emerging technologies such as Redshift, while driving business intelligence solutions end-to-end: business requirements, workflow instrumentation, data modeling, ETL, metadata, reporting, and dashboard development. You should be able to work with business customers in understanding the business requirements and implementing reporting solutions. The role requires someone who loves data and has a strong business sense.
Responsibilities include
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Drive operational excellence for data ingestion, transformation and publication to ensure confidence in the systems we build. Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for datasets. Conduct deep dive investigations into business problems and identify potential opportunities. Identify and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation. Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes. Identify ways to automate analysis through smarter software systems.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
4-9 years of relevant work experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analysis role Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or other business/analytical discipline. Advanced SQL skills, advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and analytical programs. Experience in developing requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting, familiarity with data visualization tools. Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced proven statistical skills and data modelling with software and/or scripts (Python/R)Excited to learn new technologies and analytical methodologies relating to business intelligence and data analysis
