Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The successful applicant will:

* Together with the existing Regional CF & PF BORM, have primary responsibility for performance of 1st line assurance testing (CSTs, KCIs, KRIs) - gathering samples and documentation, conducting tests, investigation and reporting of exceptions and escalation to business heads, COOs and SOROs as appropriate, logging in EORP and resolution of material exceptions, events and issues
* Develop and maintain Residual Risk assessments at local level where relevant for CF and PF under Operational Risk Framework.
* Act as representative for the CF and PF businesses at country / regional BORFs and CORCs.
* Perform quality assurance reviews and peer reviews on behalf of CF COO / PF COO / Regional COO or specific CF or PF business heads
* Perform specific assignments at request of Regional CF BORM AME/CF COO / PF COO / Regional COO, particularly in relation to process, control, risk, infrastructure matters.
* Facilitate and co-ordinate internal and external reviews of CF and PF in AME (GIA / regulator / compliance reviews etc) including gathering of required documents and coordinating responses and action plans.
* Investigation, logging and monitoring of Ops Risk issues, events and Ops Losses, including development and implementation of action plans.
* Support the Regional Business Heads in all process, control, risk, infrastructure matters
* Facilitate appropriate interaction between CF and PF business units and support and control functions at local/regional level, including Legal, Compliance, Risk functions, Finance, Operations and any others as required to deliver efficient business and transaction support. Help facilitate transactional approvals where relevant and assist business in following all relevant approval processes.
* Coordinate the preparation, review and renewal of any Country Addenda in South Africa under PPGs for CF or PF businesses (with the BPMs).
* Conduct training and briefings to CF and PF business teams related to relevant Policy, Process and Control requirements

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

* A broad understanding of core banking products offered to Corporate Banking clients
* Relevant Investment, Corporate or Commercial Banking or Principal Finance experience, in particular a background in Corporate Finance, Private Equity, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Relationship Management, or FM Sales or Structuring.
* Alternatively, a background or experience in Operational Risk, Credit or Market Risk, Assurance, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Finance or Operations.
* Interpersonal skills in networking, communication and influence are likely to be important in a multi functional and multicultural team environment
* Excellent analytical skills
* A focused individual who is an excellent communicator with good numerical skills, who has the ability to influence others by showing initiative and creativity.
* Ability to identify process and control weaknesses, and opportunities to improve operating procedures, risk management and business infrastructure.
* Project management and/or change management skills would be an advantage
