Job Description & Summary
A career in Finance, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help PwC in all aspects of our Finance internal function including financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with overall strategy. You'll focus on recording and analysing financial transactions, paying and receiving invoices, maintaining financial statement ledger accounts, and preparing analysis and reconciliations of bills to detect fraud.

Our Financial Analysis and Reporting team is responsible for managing PwC's financial risk through financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and tactical consulting. As part of the team, you'll help with budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting, shared services and financing.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for supporting the daily business operations and processes of one or more medium/large BUs, from project kick-off to project closure.
- Assist in the financial management of the BU by conducting regular financial reviews, as well as annual and quarterly planning.
- Provide BU financial reports to the Business Unit Leader, Partners and Directors and present monthly results and KPI at monthly team meetings. He/she will be use the Consulting Finance methodology as well as accommodate specific BU needs.
- Set up new opportunities and maintain existing ones using the firms iPower CRM and finance system.
- After getting the necessary approvals, create job codes with approved recovery rate and ensure correct use throughout the life of engagements. Coordinate with the Resourcing manager to make sure the BU colleagues are as fully utilised as possible.
- Ensure that all Risk & Quality compliance requirements for new engagements are met and exceptions reported.
- Ensure timely billing on engagements in line with contracts.
- Review and close dormant job codes.
- Book accounting entries (as required by the Advisory Finance Leader) to properly reflect the net realisable value of NI balances.
- Conducting operational and admin activities - team events, meetings, newsletters, team onboarding.
- Financial reviews
- Conduct monthly reviews of NI portfolios with the relevant partners, flagging large unbilled WIP and any AR that is due to go into provisioning at month end. Monitor identified exposures and report them to the Advisory Finance Leader.
- Monitor project economics and work closely with engagement managers to avoid budget overruns.
- Analyse monthly revenue (vs budget) across territories and partners and compare backlog to actuals.
- Monitor general and marketing costs incurred by the BU, raising visibility of budget variances and dealing with queries and discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting
- Assist with the creation of annual budgets for the BU, including input into the budget presentation pack, headcount & revenue projections.
- Prepare & present financial data and other useful KPIs to BU Leaders & Partners during monthly BU meetings.
- Maintain a 'live' report of business opportunities (backlog).
- Work closely with MERC finance team on xBU mid and month end roll over and monthly MELT report.
- Provide the MERC finance team with monthly BU cash forecast.

Requirements

Preferred Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as basic presentation skills
- Strong quantitative skills, and affinity to work with data and has good analytical skills
- Organizational talent: Ability to work within a fast-paced & unstructured environment. Must be able to multi-task and effectively and continually prioritise
- Service-oriented attitude, proactive thinker, networker, information seeker, team player
- Excellent time management, communication and organizational skills
- Extensive knowledge of relevant computer software (e.g. Microsoft Office), Excel, PowerPoint and Google
- Willingness and interest to frequently interact with and reach out to Partners, Directors and the team and to engage in limited travel for team meetings, training, etc.
- Ability to interact efficiently with senior members of the firm across multiple time zones

Minimum years of experience required
- 6+ years relevant experience
- Background in finance or accounting preferred
- Experience in consulting preferred
- Understanding of the Firm's marketing and business development and the Firm's Service Offerings

Education
- University Degree - Business/Finance
