Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with a multinational Oil & Gas organisation who is looking to hire a Business Unit Accountant to join their finance team in Abu Dhabi. As a Senior Accountant, you will support the Financial Controller and supervise a small team of accountants with responsibility for month-end accounting, financial reporting and managing various stakeholders in the business.
Your main responsibilities will include the accurate processing of accounting data in SAP across AP, AR and GL functions, key accounting and general ledger processes of fixed assets, journals, accruals and prepayments. In addition, you will oversee month-end closing and reporting processes for the business. You will also have the opportunity to assist with budget preparation, liaising with key stakeholders across the business as well as other ad hoc accounting duties within analysis and reporting.
Requirements
The successful candidate should be a qualified chartered accountant with a university Degree in accounting or finance coupled with at least 5 years' of finance experience, preferably with a multinational organisation within the GCC region. Exposure to SAP, ERP platforms is essential within the search criterion.
