CAD Technical Design Engineer

Job description / Role

With a global reputation for innovation in design and engineering, this international organization requires a talented Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technical Design Engineer to develop concepts, scheme designs, technical specifications, internal fit out solutions and engineering drawings, whilst exploiting, CAD/CAM/3D printing manufacturing opportunities.

The Technical Design Engineer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of safe, innovative and cost effective designs across the ETT’s product lines.

Duties will include:
- Generate, modify and update designs utilising CAD packages
- Generate Bill of Quantities, Materials and Schedules
- Monitoring, recording and configuration control and change management of all design documentation
- Capture field mark ups and generate As Build drawings sets for the final design package
- Drive and implement global best practice across CAD and Engineering workspaces
- Coordinate sub?contractor designs
- Assist with and perform site surveys
- Assist project and bid managers where require
- Support the Chief Engineer with developing and implementing the companie's Engineering Strategy
- Continued professional development on the latest technology and techniques

Requirements

- Excellent English comprehension, fluent verbal and accurate written skills (business is conducted in English)
- Mechanical, structural or architectural engineering degree (AS.Eng., BS, BSc., BEng, MSc., MEng)
- At least 5 years post qualification experience
- Work knowledge of BIM processes
- Superior computer skills
- Expert in the use of multiple CAD design tools
- AutoDesk (inc AutoCAD, REVIT, Advanced Steel)
- Solidworks
- SketchUp
- Meticulous documentation and record keeping skills
- Knowledge and/or experience of manufacturing, fabrication (i.e. machining, welding, metalwork)
- Knowledge and/or experience of civil construction and structural engineering would be an advantage
- Holder of (or ability to gain) UAE Entry Permit, Residents VISA & ID
- Car and local licence
- Ability to travel throughout GCC
- Attested copies of academic and professional qualifications
