Job overview:
The role of a Carpenter involves constructing, repairing, and installing structures, fixtures, and other items made of wood and other materials. Carpenters work on a wide range of projects, from small residential repairs to large commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be skilled in using hand and power tools, reading and interpreting blueprints, and working with a variety of materials. They should also be able to work efficiently and safely, and be able to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
Main responsibilities:
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the correct materials, tools, and techniques needed for a project
• Measuring and marking out materials to be cut or assembled
• Using hand and power tools, such as saws, hammers, chisels, and drills, to cut, shape, and join materials
• Constructing and installing a variety of structures and fixtures, such as walls (gypsum and glass), floors, roofs, doors, windows, and cabinets
• Repairing and maintaining existing structures, including replacing damaged or worn materials
• Working safely and following proper safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site
• Collaborating with other team members, such as lead carpenters and construction managers, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Communicating with clients and team members to discuss project details, progress, and any issues that arise
• Maintaining a clean and organized work site
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned by Management
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Carpentry certification or apprenticeship program is preferred
• Experience in carpentry, including knowledge of various tools, materials, and techniques
• 5 years of experience as a carpenter (including traineeship) is preferred, with experience in both residential and commercial projects
• Experience working with a variety of materials, including wood, metal, and concrete
• Advantageous to have interior fit out background, with suspended ceilings, partition, and joinery experience
• Experience in both new construction and repair and maintenance work is a plus
Salary:
AED
6,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
