Job description / Role
Our client a leading government entity based in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Category Associate to manage their Facilities Management spend. You MUST have experience managing an FM services spend for a leading multinational or reputable business.
You will be responsible for:
• Develop and manage a category strategy and rolling programme of areas that need to be addressed
• Track actual versus forecasted benefits (such as savings) for the category and communicate the performance against these measures as well as the impact they have on the budget
• Establish and lead the cross functional teams in order to manage the development and implementation of the procurement category strategy in agreement with internal customer departments and the Head of Procurement
• Deliver the procurement category strategy, which includes sourcing activities that will generate benefits and achieve financial savings targets through bench-marking, insights, and analyzing procurement spend, supply markets, internal and external cost drivers and company standards
• Identify and give recommendations on best practice procurement tools in order to implement and develop sourcing strategies
• Lead, manage and foster relationships with internal and external suppliers, customers, external company counterparts, industry and trade associations in order to generate best practices to continually strengthen Category Expertise
• Develop and deploy expertise within a particular area of spend in order to achieve value for money procurement solutions and provide support to the departments as required to ensure the company’s best interests are promoted and protected
• Make sure that the contracts comply with statutory and regulatory regimes, which include the company’s policies, rules and regulations
• Contribute to performance management by continuously developing and managing relationships with suppliers in order to build capacity, strengthen the control of the supply chain and promote a partnering approach to managing contracts
• Ensure savings and efficiencies are achieved by leading procurement related negotiations
• Support an overall framework for the Supplier Management process, which includes Supplier Segmentation, Supplier On-boarding, Scorecard Development, Performance Review and Joint Business Planning
Requirements
• Have managed a Facilities Management spend for a government entity or reputable multinational
• You must be willing to commit to a 12 month contract
• Must have a BA Honours in procurement or another relevant field
