Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Chartering Assistant is responsible for supporting the Chartering desk to provide effective and efficient shipping service to our suppliers and customers by obtaining best freights and quality services, same time solving any problems that may arise during the dispatch process or at the customer’s premise.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Strong experience in dealing with vessel owners / brokers and international logistics providers
• Maintains channels of effective communication with customers, operations team, sub-contractors and other departments
• Establishes & enforces the proper working procedure by making proper corrective and preventive actions through the analysis and investigation of problems, feedback and complaints
• Proposes and reviews guidelines, standard operations procedure (SOP) and key performance indicator (KPI) to monitor the team’s performance
• Make sure shipments are planned according to the agreed schedule & time frame.
• Possesses profound knowledge of chartering parcel tankers
• Sufficient knowledge on Products (Easy chemicals) and the cleaning standards to load in different coatings
• Reporting bulk liquid moves and market intelligence
• Perform any extra duties as assigned by the Group Chartering & Logistics Director

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Chartering or Ship brokering company within the UAE
• 5+ years of experience in position chartering vessels
• Familiar with Demurrage of Bulk Tankers and Lay time calculation
• Knowledge of marine claims (for parcel tankers)
• Familiarity with ship operations and customs guidelines
• Good understanding of the Import & Export function and documentation requirements
• Ability to Coordinate necessary paperwork and transport documents
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and multiple details
• Shows great initiative and exceptional organizational skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Should be customer centric
• Should hold Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics Management or related field
• Knowledge of JDE systems and MS Office
• Fluency in English both written and oral.
