Job description / Role
CRITICAL ACTIVITIES
- Research and reporting on changes to economic environment as it relates to responsible commodities, including but not limited to global macro and micro economic policies, shifts in current or future global output and global demand as it relates specifically to responsible feedstock inputs.
- Support as required the establishment and maintenance of index mechanisms to accurately and fairly make price corrections to materials as their feedstock prices fluctuate.
- Provide input, with justification, supporting any forward purchasing activities as it relates to feedstock inputs, with the aim of stabilizing the company’s exposure to significant fluctuations.
- Support the group company in establishing budget feedstock pricing for future budget periods, with supporting evidence.
- Develop Group supplier base by actively sourcing, identifying and evaluating new supplier sources to maximize supplier competition and collaboration opportunities and ensure supplier specification and drawing control for Direct Commodities.
- Support Group negotiations through cross-functional cost reduction improvements for direct commodities to obtain maximum benefits for the Group.
Requirements
Minimum five years Purchasing or Engineering in a relevant industry
Exposure to Supplier Development principles.
Experience in cost down activities both internally and external to the business.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and to suppliers.
Ability to work in a matrix organization and coordinate activities globally.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) Engineering, Chemicals
