Chief Accountant

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading company in the UAE is looking to hire a Chief Accountant to join their growing team in Dubai.

As a Chief Accountant, you are expected to perform the accounting work according to standard accounting principles, established procedures, Company guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to work. Manage the entire financial and accounting activities independently up to the issue of financial statements, Government reporting and audit. You will also be responsible for ensuring balance sheet reconciliations, monthly and yearly financial statements, Department of Finance reports; hence you are expected to be a super user for Oracle.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you should have Professional Qualification, i.e, ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA, 10+ years relevant experience in financial and management accounting, 5+ years related work experience in the oil and gas industry or industrial sector or a well-structured organization, with working experience in Oracle; ideally with a post-graduate qualification in a complementary area, relevant experience in audit and costing advantageous. Extensive knowledge of generally accepted standard accounting principles, established procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work is required. People skills, self-direction, ability to coach less experienced team members, and computer literacy, working knowledge of Microsoft office packages, Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and reporting tools are highly essential.
