Chief Accountant

Job description / Role

• Leading the Accounting team to complete assigned accounting tasks by entities and divisions
• Managing full set of accounts and reviewing the postings and reconciliations to ensure compliance
• Maintaining the overall accuracy of Accounting in iScala ERP and propose improvements or additions
• Preparing the payroll and related allowances
• Ensuring that the inter company allocations are as per agreed
• Overseeing the projects’ actual and expected costs are accurately reported in iScala ERP
• Month-end closing of local books and reporting the data in Hyperion
• Conducting Project Review meetings
• Completing and filing the VAT return on a periodic basis
• Preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports for Controller review
• Assisting the Controller in preparing the yearly budget based on current and past revenue/cost streams
• Responding to ad-hoc accounting inquiries from management
• Supervising the external as well as internal auditing by preparing and providing necessary information
• Teaching and mentoring the other team members

Requirements

Knowledge/Experience:
• Have minimum 6 years Accounting & Finance experience
• Knowledge of Accounting processes with the ability to apply it in practice and work under pressure to accurately complete tasks within deadlines
• Communicating independently with peers both inside and outside the finance function
• Able to perform all basic accounting functions mentioned above with the ability to do ad-hoc tasks
• Very good computer skills (Preferred knowledge of iScala ERP)
• Fluent English
• General understanding of logistics fundamentals including Incoterms and terms of payment
