Chief Accountant

Job description / Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to join our client's dynamic team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will lead the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective financial management to support our business growth.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and coordinate with auditors during financial audits.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team to maintain high performance and professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy.
- Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships to optimize company liquidity.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations and real estate industry accounting practices.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage teams and interact with stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
