Chief Economist (Emiratisation)

Charterhouse is currently working in partnership with a leading government-backed Financial Institution in Abu Dhabi, focused on strategic investments, who are currently looking to hire a Chief Economist as part of their growing team.

The Chief Economist will play a crucial role in conducting comprehensive economic research at both, regional and global levels; this includes macroeconomic and monetary analysis, econometric modelling, and other key economic disciplines necessary to equip senior leadership with strategic insights. The role will involve overseeing statistical analysis on relevant economic trends and preparing detailed outlook reports, as well as conducting feasibility studies for proposed projects to guide strategic planning. By delivering high-quality economic intelligence, the role ensures informed decision-making that supports the organization’s broader objectives. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced economist looking to contribute to a high-impact institution, shaping economic strategies that foster sustainable development on a global scale.

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will have prior experience in a similar role involving conducting comprehensive economic research, and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Statistics. The ideal candidate will have experience in carrying out PEST analysis and have a deep understanding of the macroeconomic theory, as well as econometric techniques. Our client is looking for someone who has prior experience in conducting feasibility studies and is familiar with financial cost structures. As part of their Emiratisation initiative, our client is looking to hire UAE Nationals with a Family Book, based within the UAE and fluent in written, as well as spoken English and Arabic.
