Charterhouse are currently working with an investment firm, whom are focused towards the development of a business start-up, within the FinTech space. This organisation is geared towards a vertical integration approach; whereby they are looking towards areas of trading along with the technology platforms, through data mining partnerships, linking to the worlds of Blockchain and Crypto currency.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will take a steering and management role across all areas of financial management whilst overseeing and reviewing financial accounting across the business. In conjunction, the CFO will be focussed-on the development of reporting platforms within the group, to ensure robust governance and controllership, across both operational and investment related activities. This CFO shall also be heavily involved in areas of regulatory compliance along with the development of investment appraisals and financial pitches; to allow for a detailed due diligence through financial modelling and projections across Excel and market-related trend analysis.

Requirements

The client will look to recruit a seasoned financial professional whom will possess a professional accountancy and/or finance-based qualification (ACA, CPA or MBA); whereby the core and fundamental principles are engrained and demonstrable.
Combined with this, the client will look for a profile which links to an analyst-type background; whereby candidates can display an understanding of investment banking, M&A and/or VC functions and the compliance related accounting standards. The client is also steering this search towards pinpointing applicants whom are able to deliver a strong baseline knowledge and experience to Crypto and Blockchain operations plus, an appreciation of any accounting nuances.

Secondary to this, the client would ideally look to assess candidates whom have worked within trading-related environments; be it within financial services or trade finance organisations. The CFO shall also be expected to act as an external interface with any regulator, external auditor and financing or investor partner.
