Civil 3D Draughtsman (Earthwork Design)

Job description / Role

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting and Design:
• Utilize Civil 3D software to create detailed drawings and designs for various civil engineering projects, with a focus on earthwork and site development.
• Develop and prepare plans, sections, and profiles for grading, drainage, and other earthwork-related tasks.
• Create accurate and detailed 3D models for visualization and analysis of earthworks and other civil engineering components.

Earthwork Design:
• Perform earthwork calculations, including cut and fill volumes, and generate accurate reports.
• Develop and optimize earthwork designs to ensure efficient use of materials and cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure that all earthwork designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations.

Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
• Coordinate with other draughtsmen and design professionals to ensure the accuracy and consistency of drawings and designs.
• Participate in project meetings and provide input on design and drafting issues.

Skills:
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and related drafting and design software.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, particularly in earthworks and site development.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with other design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in civil engineering and earthwork design.
• Familiarity with project management tools and software.
