Civil Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Structural Engineer with experience in creating project quotations, conducting cost estimations, and working with AutoCAD for the design and planning of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, producing detailed technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for projects, considering all cost factors including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
• Collaborate with the project management and procurement teams to gather project details and ensure quotation accuracy.
• Review tender documents and perform quantity take-offs to assist in pricing and budgeting.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations in the preparation of bids and cost estimations.
• Use AutoCAD software to create detailed technical drawings for projects.
• Prepare site layouts, cross-sections, elevations, and other necessary documentation for project designs.
• Review project designs and ensure they comply with engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
• Update and modify AutoCAD drawings based on project progress and client feedback.
• Assist in the coordination of project schedules, ensuring that deadlines are met and projects remain within budget.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
• Provide on-site technical support and ensure the quality of work during construction.
• Ensure all designs and quotations meet relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reports for internal and client use.
• Monitor project progress and track any changes in project scope that could impact the quotation or design.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Structural engineering, with a focus on quotation preparation and AutoCAD design.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other related design software (e.g., Revit, Civil 3D).
• Experience in cost estimation, project budgeting, and preparing detailed quotations.
