Civil Inspector (High Rise)

Job description / Role

We are a well-reputed engineering consultancy firm based in the Middle East.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Inspector-Civil to be a part of one of the prestigious high-rise building projects based in Business Bay, Dubai.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing civil works, ensuring all construction activities meet the required standards, regulations, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

* Inspect and monitor the civil works during construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and building codes.
* Supervise site activities related to structural elements such as foundations, slabs, beams, columns, and core walls.
* Verify the implementation of enabling works, including excavation, temporary works, and site preparation.
* Conduct daily inspections of construction progress, including assessments of material quality and workmanship.
* Review contractor’s submittals and shop drawings, ensuring they align with project requirements.
* Coordinate with the project manager and other site engineers to resolve any technical issues or discrepancies.
* Monitor safety and environmental compliance on-site to ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with local regulations.
* Document inspection findings and create reports outlining non-conformities or areas of improvement.
* Ensure quality control and assurance procedures are followed, reporting any discrepancies to the supervision consultant.
* Site clearance and preparation, including the removal of debris and vegetation.
* Excavation and earthworks, including leveling and creating appropriate foundations for the building structure.
* Temporary works such as shoring, dewatering, and the construction of access roads or work platforms.
* Utility diversion and relocation, including water, electricity, and gas pipelines that may obstruct the project area.
* Installation of temporary services and site facilities for workers (e.g., temporary offices, toilets, etc.).
* Managing any necessary permits and ensuring the appropriate regulatory authorities are involved.
* Ensure timely and accurate completion of inspection forms, punch lists, and other project documentation.
* Support the site team in troubleshooting and resolving on-site challenges.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Certification in quality control or construction management is a plus.

Experience:

* Minimum of 8 years’ experience (UAE / GCC) in civil inspection roles, with a focus on high-rise building projects (30+ stories).
* Proven experience with enabling works (site preparation, excavation, utility diversions, temporary works, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards in the UAE.
* UAE-based candidates.

Salary:
AED 11,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
