Civil Procurement Engineer

Job description / Role

• Review or assess technical specification, BOQ (Bill of Quantity), and Drawings to determine suitable vendors and suppliers
• Develop specifications and performance test requirements to facilitate procurement of parts and equipment
• Analyze technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and availability of parts and equipment
• Consult with engineering personnel to establish performance criteria and specifications for procurement of project-specific materials
• Identify vendors and confirm specifications, costs, inspection, and similar problems relating to materials and equipment to establish a professional database of suppliers
• Perform pricing analysis and recommend contracts that result in best value procurement
• Arrange and participate in conferences between suppliers and engineers, purchasers, inspectors, and other company personnel to facilitate material inspection, substitution, standardization, rework, salvage, utilization, and economical procurement of materials
• Gather market intelligence on supply base and technology trends on assigned commodities
• Assist in the development and the implementation of short and long-term sourcing strategies
• Liaise with inspection/expediting group or other inspection organization to obtain economic and expeditious inspection of equipment and materials

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar field
• CIPS, NPA
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Strong data analysis skills
• Expertise in MS Office, especially Excel, for financial modeling
• Understanding of technical blueprints and schematics
• Knowledge of quality control standards
