Claims Manager - International Main Contractor - Prestigious Mixed Use Development

For the Main Contract:

- Reporting to the overall Project Director you will be responsible for managing the day to day affairs of the main and subcontract Claims and TIA teams
- Manage the identification and investigation of critical and non-critical delaying and / or disruptive events affecting the Main Contract.
- Manage procedures identifying extension of time costs and processes maintaining contemporary records.
- Liaise with Subcontract Administration, Engineering, Construction and Planning Departments to establish early warning of possible delaying events.
- Liaise with Subcontract Administration, Engineering, Construction and Planning departments to obtain necessary history, facts and planned mitigation measures for delaying events.
- Coordinate with other departments including Contractors BIM, Procurement, Subcontract, HR Administration, Engineering, Construction, Planning and Commercial Departments to gather data, facts, programmes, costs, etc.
- Research and compile disruption and acceleration claims.
- Ensure that the requirements of the Contract in respect of notices and claim submission are implemented and maintained throughout the Contract period.
- Research for, compile and submit necessary notices under the Contract
- Research, obtain and maintain all records necessary to ensure the effective pursuit and administration of all time and cost related claims under the Contract.
- Compile claims for loss and expense due to delay and disruption for non-critical events in parallel with the TIA team for critical events.

For the Subcontracts:

- Manage the investigation of critical and non-critical delaying and / or disruptive events affecting the subcontract works.
- Facilitate the procurement of delay information from subcontractors to include in Main Contract TIA and / or claims.
- Advisement of all delaying events to support the application for extensions of time and preparation of associated narratives and time impact analysis submissions under the Main Contract.
- Chair meetings on delay event issues with relevant parties.
- Attend meetings with other Departments as required, record minutes of meeting as necessary to keep Commercial Department appraised.

Requirements

Requirements:

- Male/Female 20/25 years plus experience
- Western Educated
- Proven track record in delay, disruption and acceleration claims recognition, assessment, monitoring, evaluation and submission
- Contracts experience essential
- Ability to read and understand critical path programmes essential
- Competent contractual letter and claims narrative writer
- A claims practitioner able to work with high level of autonomy
- Excellent English skills
- Able to manage a team of delay analysts and claims writers
- Team player
- Able to communicate and integrate in a multidisciplinary, multicultural and multinational environment
- Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Planning or business related field qualification with training in contract, construction and commercial law
- Detailed understanding of time impact analysis (TIA) method of delay analysis
- A minimum of 10 years experience in the recognition, administration and processing of delay claims on major building projects is required.
- Experience with and knowledge of building related main contracts and subcontracts in the UAE (UK Candidates will be considered)
- Major building project site based experience essential
