Coal And Ash Field Operator (Emirati National)

Job description / Role

Field Operations

• Follow safety guidelines including PTW system.
• Comply with all statutory and environmental norms.
• Support Shift Supervisor in system configuration for local line-up and isolation of equipment.
• Monitor and record local parameters (e.g., levels, pressure, temperatures of equipment, bearings, lube oils, etc.).
• Conduct local monitoring of plant conditions through observation, listening for abnormal sounds, detecting vibrations, heat, etc., and report to the desk operator.
• Coordinate with control room operations.
• Report any leakages of coal, ash, air, water, etc.
• Perform manual operation of valves, dampers, and equipment.
• Ensure the correct position of piping hangers and supports.
• Check for valves, safety valves, and PRVs passing and report to the control room.
• Document major activities/events performed during the shift in a logbook and fill area log sheets.
• Adhere to SOPs/Operating Instructions.
• Switch from automatic to manual controls and isolate equipment mechanically and electrically for safe execution of repair work.
• Adjust and/or control valves on equipment to regulate and set operations of systems or industrial processes.
• Inform and report accidents and suggest preventive measures.
• Provide first-line support for reporting and initial extinguishing of fires and other emergency occurrences while keeping the CCR informed at all times.
• Report unsafe conditions and unsafe acts in the field to the competent authority.
• Be a proactive team member and participate in teamwork.
• Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness.
• Work in any area as assigned by the Shift Engineer or Desk Operator.
• Comply with safety rules and regulations and be familiar with the fire equipment in the area.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls to ensure employee safety and environmental compliance.
• Monitor environmental regulatory parameters regularly and report any deviations to the Shift Supervisor/Engineer or CCR Operator for corrective action.

Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures

• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure work is carried out to the required • standard and in a consistent manner.

Related Assignments
• Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.

Communication & Working Relationships
• Internal: Work closely with Shift Engineer/Supervisor and CCR Operators.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:
• A Technical Diploma in Engineering.

Minimum Experience:
• 1 - 3 years of experience in Coal Field operations in Power/Water desalination units.

Skills:
• Knowledge of relevant plant equipment and field operations.
• Extensive experience as a local operator in conventional, combined cycle, and water desalination plants like RO, MSF, MED, as well as renewable energy plants like solar and wind mills.
• Awareness of HSE & quality standards.
• Knowledge of all relevant plant processes and equipment.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledge of identification, classification, and disposal of waste.
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment.
• Teamwork and effective collaboration skills.
• Embraces innovation.
• Demonstrates integrity and respect.
• Familiarity with operational activities in Power/Water/Solar plants.
• Good communication skills.

Salary:
AED 20,000 to 25,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
