Job purpose

The commercial & procurement analyst (bids & projects) will be responsible for supporting the commercial, procurement, and bidding activities of the organization. This role involves preparing bid proposals, analyzing procurement requirements, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with company and client standards.

Key responsibilities

Bids & proposals
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and submitting bids, RFPs, and tender documents.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (finance, operations, legal, technical teams) to gather required inputs for bid submissions.
  • Maintain a repository of bids, proposals, and supporting documentation for audit and reference.
  • Commercial analysis
  • Analyze pricing, costing, and commercial terms for projects and bids.
  • Prepare cost models, financial summaries, and risk assessments to support decision-making.
  • Support negotiation of commercial terms with clients and partners.
  • Procurement & supplier management
  • Manage procurement activities related to bids and projects, including sourcing suppliers and vendors.
  • Request, review, and evaluate supplier quotations, ensuring competitive and compliant offers.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
  • Compliance & governance
  • Ensure bids and procurement processes are compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Support contract reviews and ensure contractual obligations are clearly captured.
  • Track and report on procurement spend, savings, and supplier performance.
  • Project support
  • Work closely with project teams to align procurement and commercial strategies with project goals.
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures on awarded projects.
  • Provide regular updates to management on bid status, procurement progress, and risks.
  • Key skills & competencies

  • Strong knowledge of procurement and commercial processes, ideally within bids/projects environment.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids/projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP/procurement systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in commercial/procurement roles, with exposure to bids and projects.
  • Experience in preparing RFP responses, bid documentation, and cost analysis.
  • Familiarity with UAE/local market procurement regulations (preferred).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, PMP, or equivalent) are an advantage.
