Employment: Full Time

The Company:

Robert Half are exclusively working with an award winning global listed oil and gas services provider, based in Sharjah and reporting to their headquarter office in Europe.

The Role:

You will support all aspects of the contracting lifecycle (pre-qualification, bidding, execution, claims and close out) and all our other corporate and commercial activities. This may include legal support to help the business resolve disputes, to find commercially focused solutions and achieve successful outcomes in varied global jurisdictions.

Responsibilities:

* Advise on implementation of corporate, contracting protocols or similar.
* Draft and negotiate preliminary agreements
* To give timely, high quality, pragmatic, commercial legal advice.
* Provide commercially pragmatic legal advice to bid teams and projects in many jurisdictions.
* Advise on implications of applicable local laws; engage, and manage external local legal advisers to ensure appropriate and cost-effective advice is given.
* Conduct legal review of proposed terms and conditions, support commercial functions with interpretation, analysis and drafting of qualifications.
* Negotiate and advise on creation, operation and closure of legacy and local country projects and corporate presences, assist in legal due diligence, draft, negotiate and advise upon corporate loan facilities, bonds, guarantees and securities.
* Legal support on contractual issues for any project at any stage of contract lifecycle (bidding, commencement, execution, amendment, and termination), at any level (upstream, downstream or laterally (partners)).
* Help the business to identify, exclude, mitigate and manage contractual, legal and other commercial risks through life cycle of EPC(M), E&C, consultancy, services, and other contract types.
* Coach, mentor, educate and train and communicate effectively with non-lawyers to understand legal concepts and risk in user-friendly ways.
* Support consistency of corporate behaviours relevant to group standards published from time to time (e.g. anti-bribery and corruption, diligence, and governance).
* Support good corporate and regulatory governance and CSR and ensure it complies with its legal obligations.
* Negotiate and manage fees with external lawyers, law firms, experts and counsel.
* Identify and manage legal risks in domestic and foreign jurisdictions

Requirements

The Candidate:

* Professionally qualified lawyer with a UK or equivalent professional practising certificate.
* Minimum of 7-10 years
* Good mix of private practice background (litigation and/or projects department), with in-house experience preferred.
* Experience of personally managing and resolving substantial construction and engineering disputes.
* Experience of work, disputes and projects in a variety of legal jurisdictions including GCC and common law jurisdictions

Salary:

AED 40,000 - AED 50,000 per month
