Summary
As a commis chef specializing in Arabic cuisine, you will be part of the culinary team at Hyatt Place Jumeirah, contributing to exceptional dining experiences by preparing authentic Arabic dishes. You'll work under the guidance of senior chefs, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Arabic hot section dishes using standard recipes and techniques (grilling, frying, roasting, braising).
- Ensure food quality and consistency while minimizing waste and controlling food costs.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in your assigned station.
- Follow presentation guidelines to enhance visual appeal.
- Respond to guest preferences and dietary requirements with professionalism.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Uphold Hyatt's brand promise by delivering friendly and professional service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in Arabic cuisine.
- Culinary certification or relevant education is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Arabic ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
About the Company
Hyatt was founded by Jay Pritzker in 1957 when he purchased the Hyatt House motel adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport. Over the following decade, Jay Pritzker and his brother, Donald Pritzker, working together with other Pritzker family business interests, grew the company into a North American management and hotel ownership company, which became a public company in 1962.
