Commissioning Engineer

Job description / Role

Responsible as a technical expert with the task of working closely with project and maintenance team to ensure that the products being installed or maintained are configured correctly and as per the client’s expectation

Key responsibilities but not limited:
• Security Systems Configuration plan/methodology - Create detailed plans for the configuration required at each project or maintenance site.
• Commissioning/configure security system – hardware. Configure network devices, cameras, access control controllers, alarm panels, sensors, or any other device/hardware that needs to be configured in order to communicate with the head end equipment. The configuration shall be in compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendation and client’s expectations
• Commissioning/configure security system – software. Install & Configure the following types of software:
- Windows Server OS
- Video Management software
- Access Control Software
- PSIM
- SMS
- Alarm monitoring software
- Network management and security software
• Train Clients - Train clients on the system installed. Training to be tailored to the requirements of the client based on the solution delivered.
• Support Maintenance team - Support maintenance engineers with fault finding and troubleshooting
• Support Smart Solution Centre - Support management with maintaining and running a smart solution center (SSC). The facility is used for hosting and presenting innovative solutions to clients. It is also used to test features and products internally prior to showcasing it to key clients.

Requirements

• Engineering degree, Networking certificates (Eg Cisco), Certificates from VMS (eg Milestone/Genetec), Miscrosoft Certification
• Must have 3-5 years Years in a Similar Position
• Advanced: Single SBU -Team Leader / Supervisor/ Senior administrator of Business Support function
• Must be a subject matter expert with extensive security systems experience and an ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff or clients in a way that is easy to understand
• Brand knowledge: Key Brands: Axis, Milestone, Maxxess, Impro, Jci, Pelco, Vivotek, Exacq, Came, Frontier Pitts, Bosch, Sony, Genetec, Allied Telesis, Brocade, EMC, Mcrosoft.
