Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our Capex Delivery Department at Magma, a hazardous waste treatment company operated by Veolia UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commissioning aspects of multiple capital expansion projects.

Main Accountabilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain commissioning policies, procedures, and standards for all capex projects, encompassing: • Thermal treatment units and waste processing systems • NORM treatment units • Control systems (DCS, PLC) • Fire protection and safety systems • Utility systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders to de?ne precise project commissioning scopes and requirements.
- Participate in the tender process, clearly communicating commissioning requirements to potential contractors for each specialized area.
- Review and approve contractor commissioning plans and methodologies.
- Supervise contractor progress and validate compliance with commissioning standards and project speci?cations, particularly in: • Burner systems and gas trains commissioning
- CEMS installation and validation • Radiological equipment commissioning • Control systems and instrumentation testing • Process systems startup and performance testing
- Develop and maintain a system for tracking and reporting commissioning-related issues and their resolutions across all project areas.
- Oversee the ?nal acceptance, operator training and handover process, ensuring all commissioning requirements are met before project closure.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial commissioning, with at least 5 years in waste treatment or similar facilities.
- Proven experience in managing commissioning for EPC projects involving civil works, process, mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Familiarity with UAE environmental and safety regulations.
- Professional certifications in commissioning management or relevant technical fields are desirable.

Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in resolving complex commissioning issues across various disciplines.
- Excellent organisation skills and understanding of document control systems and handover documentation preparation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Proficiency in the Google office suite.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and their application in multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Adaptability and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of testing and certification procedures for process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to be on feet for extended periods and navigate industrial sites
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary

Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel between multiple sites if required
- Valid driver's license (manual gearbox)
