Job Opportunity

The purpose of this position is to supervise and lead a number of line maintenance teams to provide comprehensive engineering and maintenance services covering the Communications systems for Dubai Metro.

Key accountabilities

- Lead and give guidance to a number of Communications system engineering and maintenance teams in carrying out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications on the Communications system, including Multi-Service Network (MPLS backborne), Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Passenger Information System (PIS) & Public Address System (PAS), Time Domain System (TDS), Digital Voice & Video Recording System (DVVR), Intrusion Alarm System (IAS), On-Board Communication System (OBS), Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) and Operation Control System (OCS) related components
- Lead and give guidance to Communications system maintenance team to manage IT infrastructure (virtual machines, storage system, LDAP server)
- Assist Communications Manager in the communications system maintenance works planning and logistics
- Give guidance to Communications Team Leaders to maintain accurate maintenance records of Communications system, equipment performance, work accomplished and other information using a computerized maintenance management system
- Provide technical support to other staff for the implementation of complex systems or new projects

Requirements

Essential technical and professional skills

- Should ideally have a degree or high diploma in Electrical, Electronics or Communication Engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Must have minimum 5 years work experience as a qualified electrical or electronics team leader in maintaining and repairing communication systems covering radio system, telephone system, multi-service fiber optic network, public address system, CCTV system, passenger information system, SCADA and operations control systems.
- Must have minimum 3 years supervisory and management experience in managing a technical support team with an aim to minimize the equipment down time and asset life cycle costs of the communication system.
- Should have thorough understanding of the use, calibration and care of various electronic test equipment and ability to interpret instructions in a variety of written, verbal, pictorial forms in order to carry out the maintenance activities as required.
- Able to compile technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required.
