Job description / Role
This role is working for a government authority that regulates and enforces laws and jurisdictions for free-zone areas in Dubai.
Role Summary:
To conduct the periodical inspections as per the schedule in all sites, including the master developer buildings and third party constructed buildings, warehouses to enforce compliance with the regulations (i.e. company licensing, employment, construction and HSE regulation) in the applicable zoning jurisdiction and detect any violations, and to report findings for the issuance of violation letters and imposition of penalties.
Responsibilities
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Contribute and recommend improvements to departmental policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of inspection so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
Day- to-day Operations
- Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
Inspection Planning and Preparation
- Assist in developing plans for the inspection of construction sites to ensure systematic coverage of all areas.
- Prepare all documents required for inspections and seek approval from the Senior Manager – Inspections to ensure all requirements are in place to conduct the inspection.
Inspections
- Execute inspections as per the inspection schedule in order to assess compliance with set standards and report areas of non-compliance for action.
- Conduct adequate investigation into identified issues through questioning, examination and assessment of the evidence in order to justify the recommended corrective actions and penalties.
- Investigate any non-compliance issues and/or violations raised by third parties to ensure the necessary action is taken to improve standards.
- Prepare inspection reports highlighting any violation observed during inspection, and recommend action to be taken in order to rectify the issue in a timely and compliant manner.
- Prepare statistics of accidents and violations in order to enable analysis of the trends and records of individual contractors at construction sites in the zones and to contribute to the improvement of the safety record.
- Update the status of each violation/fine at site on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis to generate periodical reports.
Salary:
AED
14,000 to 24,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, or a relevant professional diploma
- A minimum of 3-5 years in inspection, compliance or similar role
