Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose:
- Provide input and support with the implementation of the Group Compliance Review strategies and agenda;
- Assist the Heads, Compliance Review, AME to deliver the annual planned Compliance Reviews effectively and in a timely manner;
- Assist the Heads, Compliance Review, AME to effectively execute the planned Compliance Reviews in accordance with the Group Compliance Review standards – such as issuance of terms of reference and drafting of findings and reports;
- Ensuring that all identified issues resulting the Compliance Reviews are duly tracked, monitored and remediated without unnecessary delays
- Work closely with the other pillars of Compliance Assurance (i.e. MI & Data Management, Compliance Risk Management, Process & Control)

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Execution:
- Assist in the delivery of the Compliance Review schedule that has been committed for AME
- Provide support to the Heads, Compliance Review, AME on answering queries from the country teams with respect to Compliance Review processes / minimum standards.

MI:
- Regularly (at least monthly) review the Issues Tracker to ensure that all entries for AME are correctly and promptly updated, and that any matters that are overdue are followed up and escalated as appropriate;
- Provide updates to the Heads, Compliance Review, AME on progress of closure of items on the Tracker.
- Assist with proper root cause analyses and assist in ensuring that corresponding remedial action plans are put in place to prevent recurrences

Compliance Review Support:
- Conduct initial review requests for additions, deferrals and cancellations of planned Compliance Reviews, as well as extensions of remedial action plan and present these to the Heads, Compliance Review, AME for consideration and sign-off.
- Assist the Heads, Compliance Review, AME were practicable in Compliance Review activities (including fieldwork) in AME.

Stakeholder Relationships
- Partner closely with the AME Compliance Assurance team and in-country compliance teams, ensuring there is a consistent message with regard to Compliance Review throughout the Region

Requirements

- Sound knowledge of Compliance and Regulatory matters; with a minimum of 5 years of relevant banking and compliance related experience (audit experience would be advantageous);
- High attention to detail
- An inquisitive and proactive approach to practices and procedures for Compliance Reviews;
- Excellent inter-personal skills and multi-cultural awareness.
- Strong integrity and resilience
- Team Player and team-oriented;
