Our client, a leading global provider of national security services, is looking to immediately recruit an experienced Construction Coordinator – External Works, with Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Construction and/or Telecommunications industry experience to join their team and participate in the growth and development of their projects in the Middle East.

Reporting to the Construction Manager and working as part of the Infrastructure Team, your responsibilities in the role will include:

• Support the Construction Manager in the execution of external work activities of the subcontractors in accordance with the established policies, procedures and systems as approved by the company.
• Supervises and directs the daily efforts of all external construction work of the project, through daily coordination of all field activities, subcontractor direction and specification compliance.
• Responsible for coordinating the external construction works through the supervision of subcontractors’ superintendents and site engineers.
• Coordinates subcontractor activities to ensure orderly and efficient completion of work.
• Supports activities of the Project Program HS&E Plan and procedures and attends toolbox meetings.
• Provide support to H&S Officers on the site.
• Monitors installation against design to ensure compliance and best practice.
• Ensures all work is to the required standard and that all drawings, specifications, inspections and certifications are strictly adhered to.
• Reports issues of non-conformance and poor quality in liaison with the QC Engineer.
• Supports the Construction Manager to ensure timely completion against schedule and makes recommendations to increase resources to improve performance where required.
• Builds and maintains a positive working relationship with the subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Ensures subcontractors compliance with Permit to Work systems, operating companies procedures, HSE and QA/QC Plans.

Requirements

Essential Attributes include:

• Minimum of 2 years experience (Middle East preferred) as Construction Coordinator on external infrastructure projects, preferably in a secure environment.
• Previous experience and understanding of civil construction (site preparation, earthworks, roads, site surveying, utilities and services, electrical and communications installations).
• Possesses relevant trade/degree qualification and/or professional membership
• Requires a sound knowledge of construction techniques, industry standards for installation and craft skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, organization and prioritization skills
• Excellent physical health required as working conditions can involve remote locations and exposure to seasonally high temperatures and humidity
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Previous experience of working in a hazardous and controlled environment would be highly regarded
• Candidates with international consulting experience will also be highly regarded
