Employment: Full Time

Our client is looking to hire a Construction Manager for a combined cycle power plant projects located in the UAE. Working for the owners engineer you will monitor and coordinate all activities of the EPC contractor on-site.

You will be responsible for the owner's engineering team on-site whilst ensuring a smooth and timely completion of all interface activities and information exchanges. You will follow up on plant construction with the assistance of the owner's team to ensure that it is performed properly in terms of quality as well as schedule and budget in line with the EPC contract.

You will monitor the work on-site, liaise and coordinate the efforts of the owner's team, local contractors, if any, the local authorities, interface parties and the EPC contractor. You will verify that the agreed actions to mitigate the effects of variances are planned and carried out correctly and assist the company in claims management to and from the EPC contractor.

You will monitor and update the overall schedule of the plant construction integrating the EPC schedule with the schedule of permits, authorisations and other contractual obligations. You will also thoroughly understand and apply the commercial and technical terms of the EPC contract as well as other project agreements where relevant. In addition, you will work in partnership with the project companys Health and Safety Officer to ensure that the EPC contractor implements health and safety and environmental measures on site in accordance with the EPC contract.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have a Degree in a relevant engineering discipline coupled with a minimum of 10 years' power generation experience and ideally some project experience within the Middle East. You should have experience working with the owner's engineering side and have excellent technical knowledge of combined cycle power plants to help identify technical issues on-site during the execution. You should also have strong leadership skills and be able to bridge cultural differences within diverse teams.
