Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with a large semi government organisation who is looking to hire a Arabic Speaking Construction Manager to deliver a new HQ project in Dubai. This is a very prestigious project and requires a highly motivated, talented individual to manage site activities and be able to liaise efficiently with government entities.
The Construction Manager is responsible for the pre-construction and construction planning, monitoring, construction assurance and delivery to cost, programme, safety, quality and regulatory/authorities requirements of all works contractors site works and supervisory consultants services associated with the clients built assets. In addition to this you are also responsible for project completion in time and within the budget, maintaining a productive relationship with the external stakeholders at the site, studying of drawings/site as well as planning the activities, schedule bar charts jointly with the Planning Manager. You will identify resource requirement - machinery, manpower, material etc. jointly with Planning Manager, ensure Compliance to ISO procedures, quality requirements and safety standards and continuously improve work practices, resources productivity, and efficiency. In addition, you will also indent for construction material and give a requirement of other resources as per the schedule, mobilize the site as per contract requirements along with day to day monitoring of the site as per the schedule and priorities.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 10 years experience in a site-based construction management role, supervising the construction of commercial buildings and development projects with the UAE with a project value of at least AED 500 million individually. You should have construction management experience gained in a reputable construction company, PMCs and/or engineering consulting organisations, engaged on high-valued building development. You should be fluent in Arabic and be able to motivate, retain and develop a team.
