Construction Manager ( RCC & Steel - Bridge )

Job description / Role

We are seeking an accomplished Construction Manager with extensive experience in the construction of steel and reinforced cement concrete (RCC) bridges for major infrastructure projects in Dubai, including Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) works. The successful candidate will lead site operations, ensure strict compliance with RTA specifications, and deliver complex bridge structures within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

The role demands strong technical expertise in bridge superstructure and substructure works, steel erection, post-tensioning systems, and a solid understanding of interior architectural finishes associated with bridge and infrastructure facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Site Management
a) Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for steel and RCC bridge works.
b) Oversee foundation works including piling, pile caps, abutments, piers, and retaining structures.
c) Supervise superstructure activities including precast segmental erection, in-situ deck casting, steel girder erection, and post-tensioning operations.
d) Coordinate launching girder operations, temporary works, and traffic diversions in compliance with RTA requirements.
e) Ensure alignment with approved shop drawings, method statements, and IFC drawings.

RTA Coordination & Compliance
a) Liaise directly with RTA engineers, consultants, and authorities.
b) Ensure strict adherence to RTA technical guidelines, safety standards, and inspection procedures.
c) Manage inspections, approvals, and documentation submissions to authorities.

Steel & Structural Works
a) Supervise fabrication, delivery, and erection of structural steel elements.
b) Ensure compliance with welding procedures, NDT requirements, and corrosion protection systems.
c) Monitor installation of bearings, expansion joints, and parapets.

Quality & Safety Management
a) Implement project-specific Quality Control Plans and ITPs.
b) Ensure compliance with ISO standards and project specifications.
c) Lead HSE implementation in line with RTA and Dubai Municipality regulations.
d) Conduct regular site audits and toolbox meetings.

Interior Architectural & Finishing Works
a) Supervise architectural finishes associated with bridge and infrastructure components such as:
Cladding systems
Surface treatments and protective coatings
Pedestrian walkway finishes
Utility enclosures and service rooms
b) Ensure aesthetic and durability standards are achieved as per project specifications.

Planning & Commercial Oversight
a) Monitor construction schedules in coordination with Planning Engineers.
b) Review progress against baseline programs.
c) Control site resources, subcontractors, and material procurement.
d) Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
e) Support commercial team in variations, claims, and cost control.

Team Leadership
a) Lead multidisciplinary teams including Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, and subcontractors.
b) Ensure high-performance culture and accountability on site.
c) Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 13 years of experience in bridge construction projects.
• Proven experience as Construction Manager on major steel and RCC bridge projects.
• Mandatory experience working on RTA projects in Dubai.

Strong technical expertise in:

• Steel bridge structures
• RCC bridge construction
• Precast and post-tensioned systems
• Temporary works and heavy lifting plans
• Architectural finishing works within infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of Dubai construction regulations and authority procedures.
• Proficient in project management tools and MS Office.
• Valid UAE Driving License.
