Job Descriptions

Reports to: Chief of Medical Staff

Duties and responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain professional standards for quality of patient care.
- Perform investigations and management of Gastroenterology patients.
- Responsible for the smooth running of his/her clinic.
- Perform collaborative assistance in referral of above type of patients to appropriate facilities for further management.
- Provide particular expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic flexible endoscopies â€" upper GI Endoscopies, Proctosignoidoscopies and Colonoscopies and expertise in performing liver, stomach, small and large bowel biopsies.
- Record all data of the patients’ care in the patients’ medical record in accordance with the acceptable international standards and Medical Center regulations.
- Represents the Hospital /Medical Center in the Committee for Gastroenterology related seminars and symposia.
- Actively participates in any training program or education activity related to Gastroenterology and organized within the Medical Center for training staff and in-service training classes for nursing staff.
- Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realms of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

- Graduate from a recognized medical school with MD or MBBCh or its international equivalent.
- Western certificates such as American Board, Canadian, UK Membership/Fellowship or its equivalent such as Arab Board/Indian Board.

- Five years related experience after post graduation.
- Clinical Expertise & Services Offered : - Upper and Lower Endoscopy
- Digestive Ultrasonography
- Medical and instrumental Proctology (FCPR)
- Diagnosis and Management of functional digestive disorders
- Inflammatory bowel diseases, Celiac disease, Hepatobiliary diseases
- Therapeutic treatments - ERCP
- Dilatation for Stenosis
- Esophagus Stent

Specialized Knowledge:
- Knowledge of English is essential.
- Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
