Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure high quality of content through technical editing.
- Ensure the highest standard of content editing are maintained.
- Deliver assigned tapes or files in a timely and organized manner.
- Edit all channel content (in house production, series, movies, programs, etc.), changing content formats, compiling contents, creating content for 2nd runs, as per the Group / Channel guidelines or procedures.
- Conduct a technical check on tape or files & revise the following:
- Time code
- Format
- Log sheets
- In & out

- Follow procedures for the defined / systematic technical editing to ensure world class quality of content.
- Provide recommendation about the cutting and technical editing alternatives.
- Manage equipment and identify faults, utilizing aspect ratio converters and standards converters.
- Add the MBC Studios animated branding to any trailers and episodes that still require.
- Technically check and create MBC-Shahid version based on the quality specification required by the group.
- Watch & control final episodes making sure they are flawless technically.
- Responsible for all Studios Deliverables (which shall include any information, text, data, stills or graphics and shall constitute the final episode video, audio and image) created by or on behalf of Service Provider and/or sourced from Internal or External parties.
- Communicate original material requirements to production teams ahead of production budget approval stage, ensuring to coordinate with the Channel, MBC Studios Marketing and MBC Studios Finance so that the deliverables meet the specific requirements of each project.
- Coordinate delivery of original materials for all Studios Projects from the producer or project coordinator.
- Upload the original episode materials onto Studios’ episode library system.
- Manage subtitling and translations for all series and films when required.
- Manage the delivery and storage of all Studios metadata and assets on Studios’ asset and metadata storage system.
- Upload all Studios’ screeners, trailers and stills onto the MBC Studios website.
- Coordinate details with the Right management team and update system.
- Service all relevant materials to the Channel, ensuring they meet the requested specifications.
- Fulfill technical (final episode video/audio/image) requirements for any Purchase Order(s) for any sales deals as notified by all clients internal/External.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication or related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in content and TV editing.
- Good technical knowledge of editing, understanding of media formats, and editing systems and graphics within each facility.
- Be able to solve technical problems and know the topology of the edit suites.
- Be able to identify what is acceptable for each media and broadcaster, and their different technical specifications, and have good understand about compression.
- Skilled in operating, patching and un-patching equipment, and must possess relevant computer skills in order to move media around the facility.
- Customer Orientation: be able to assert clients' needs and problems, and to identify appropriate solutions.
- Organization skills: ability to manage delivery, storage and servicing of assets in an organized and efficient manner.
- Communication skills.
- Quality Control and Assurance for edited stories.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines.
- Teamwork & interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in Arabic / English.
- Skilled in Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Proficient in Davinci and Avid.
