Employment: Full Time

Role Purpose

The Content Specialist will be involved in content creation, commissioning and sourcing and quality assurance for our online legal services targeting the legal community in Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The Content Specialist will maintain the Westlaw Gulf service and Lexgulf service by updating and expanding all launched content, servicing client research requests and content queries, preparing legal reports, contributing in the delivery of governments’ projects, managing the current awareness service on our platforms and contribute to the development of the content roadmap to fulfill all business requirements and ensure that Thomson Reuters content maintains a competitive advantage.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities
• Responsible to sourcing and updating the live service to agreed Service Level Agreement
• Loads new and updated content into the content management system accurately ensuring structure, metadata and value add content is correct
• Participates in content development initiatives to add new legal content and new vendors and improves workflow and data sourcing efficiency
• Select all laws to be translated, classified and uploaded for the service to match the product profile
• Update Official Gazette Index records
• Manage translation and QA processes for content projects working with vendors
• Manage all client requests within agreed time parameters and working closely with Account Manager
• Plan the expansion of launched content sets, such as cases, delivering according to an agreed schedule
• Prepare legal reports on different topics covering several jurisdictions.
• Establish strong relationships with external experts in the legal market.
• Help with the execution and delivery of government projects within agreed time parameters.

Salary:
AED 12,000 to 18,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Professional Skills & Competencies
• Legal background (not less than 5 years of working experience) with solid understanding of the MENA legal systems (Essential)
• Bilingual English and Arabic (Essential)
• Good written (English & Arabic) and communication skills (Essential)
• Editorial, content management, sourcing and Publishing experience (Desirable)
• Translation of legal material experience (Desirable)
• Understanding of content structure (HTML/XML) and online publishing (Desirable)

Certifications / Education
• Degree in Law (Essential)
• Publishing or Content Management qualification (Desirable)

Professional Experience
• Working in the legal field in the Middle East region
