Contracts Engineer

Job description / Role

UAE National Contracts Engineer required by a leading commercial organization in Abu Dhabi. The company manages 12,500 construction projects at various different stages of development; from financing, design review, tendering and construction / design supervision. Their Contracts and Commercial Department are seeking to hire a UAE National in the position of Contracts Engineer.

You will be required to prepare agreements for construction works, engineering consultancy services and project management services, along with conditions of contracts and instructions to tenders, Requests for Proposals (RfPs) and commercial offers by liaising with key stakeholders to obtain the required approvals in line with the agreed process and standards

• Working with your Line Manager, you will provide updates on performance of contracts;
• Provide and obtain support to your Peers;
• Working with the Legal Department, provide updates and support and obtain advice when required;
• Working with External Legal Consultant Firms, coordinate and follow up on litigation cases including negotiate and settle disputes

Requirements

• UAE National with a degree in Engineering or Construction Law with 5-7 years of UAE experience in a similar role with a reputable consultancy or project management firm
• Certificates/course attendance relating to FIDIC contracts, claims and disputes
• Project management and planning and forecasting experience
• Ability to review and write contracts in English and Arabic
