Job description / Role
The country's largest dry gas joint-venture project is currently seeking a Contracts Engineer to start ASAP. The Contracts Engineer (CE) works 12 hours/day, every day, for either a 21 a 28 day rotation (with an equal amount of time off that is covered by the CE's alternate/ back-to-back).
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all contracting activities are carried out in accordance with the Joint Ventures' procurement policies and procedures, policies on business conduct and health safety and environment (HSE) policies.
- Works to ensure best value is obtained for the Joint Ventures in all areas where Supply Chain Management has an opportunity to influence.
Firm requirements:
- Is fluent in French and English (both spoken and written).
- Possesses relevant tertiary education qualification (e.g. university degree, UK CIPS, UK IACCM, UK RICS or equivalents).
- Possesses strong interpersonal & communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience in the contracting/ procurement process and contract drafting.
- A logical & analytical person who enjoys and rises to new challenges.
- A confident decision maker who is able to plan & implement workload with minimal supervision, under pressure, to meet deadlines.
- Computer literate in MS Word and Outlook (or equivalents) and conversant with the use of Excel & PowerPoint (or equivalent) applications.
- Displays the ability to work well with alternates (rotation partners) to present a seamless customer-facing position.
- Is meticulous and thorough in his/her work.
- Has good understanding of gas or oil exploration & production.
- Leads by example - particularly in terms of work habits, HSE & ethics.
- Strongly self-motivated.
Requirements
- Experience of working or living in countries abroad.
- Direct experience with an operator company in the oil and gas upstream.
- Relevant tertiary education qualification in a commercial/ business subject.
- Fluent/ competent in Arabic (spoken and written).
