Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As a construction contracts manager, candidate will be responsible for a single large contract or a number of smaller ones. S/He would also be the main point of contact for clients, site managers and building contractors throughout the project.

Responsibilities:
• Implement policy and procedures related to administration of contracts
• Identify, analyse and respond to contractual and commercial risks
• Manage the day to day commercial activities of Projects during their post contract phase
• Administer an Interim Payment Certificate (IPC) process, liaising with end user departments, Finance subcontractor, suppliers
• Act as contact for all commercial issues related to contractual disputes and claims and liaise with the
• Liaise with Finance to receive all relevant cost data for incorporation into the Programme Cost Report
• Input into development of ERP system/Prism to enable them to capture and manage cost data necessary for the automatic development of all requisite Programme Cost Reports
• Tender Desk including managing the tenders process from the prequalification stage through to the final bid submission, award of contract and engagement close out.
• Preparation and/or compilation of the Pre-tender documents.
• Preparation and/or compilation of the Tender Documents, Addendums and PTCs.
• Manage record keeping for all tender related correspondence and documentation.
• Preparation of Award Memorandums on completion of the Tender process.
• Managing the award of contracts
• Draft, evaluate, negotiate and execute contracts.
• Manage record keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation.
• Provide contract-related issue resolution both internally and externally.
• Monitor and complete contract close out, extension and/or renewal as appropriate.
• Communicate contract-related information to all stakeholders.
• Put together plans and estimates, including budgets and time scales.
• Contribute to work planning, and brief project teams, contractors and suppliers.
• Agree any extra work to be done within set timescales.
• Gather all information together for invoicing at the end of the project.
• Supply information to resolve disputes if they arise Identify areas for improvement in existing contracting processes.
• Work closely with other construction professionals, including construction managers, quantity surveyors and planning engineers.

Requirements

7 Years + in a similar role, including demonstrated ability to provide guidance on contractual, legal and financial issues A Bachelors degree or equivalent professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying/Civil Engineering/Law/Finance.

• Membership of RICS
• Demonstrated Experience in risk identification and management
• Legal knowledge of law and specialist knowledge of the law of contract FIDIC. Experience in contract administration and in the advice and settlement of contractual matters, disputes and claims
• Technical knowledge of the life cycle project process
