Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Manage the Contracts Engineers to ensure a successful delivery of Projects, from a Contracts perspective.
• Demonstrate a high level of Contracts knowledge and work as part of the Project team.
• Ensure that project risk registers to ensure early identification of risks and ensure that contingencies are in place to manage and minimize the risks.
• Implement and comply fully with NMDC Commercial Procedures at a site level.
• Ensure the maximizing of Project Revenue flow through the timely preparation of valuations, submissions of invoices and receipt of payment.
• Ensure that project teams have a good contract understanding and focus, giving the appropriate motivation and leading by receipt of payment.
• Manage the prompt preparation of variations, claims and disputes.
• To take ownership of objectives set by management/Department Head.

Requirements

• Must have minimum 15 years experience in Contracts Management, with strong claims background
• Experience in managing and mentoring a contracts team
• Ideally exposure to Marine/Dredging projects (however heavy industry experience such as oil and gas will be considered)
• Must have Civil Engineering project knowledge
• Extensive Contract knowledge
• Bachelor and or Masters in construction-related & or Diploma in Commercial / Law
• A further legal related degree would be an advantage
• Attainment of Professional Member Qualification e.g RICS, CIOB, ICES, CIARB or similar

By way of a brief introduction to National Marine Dredging Company, in 1976 as a dredging division of ADNOC a board decision was taken to form an autonomous dredging company reporting to its own Board of Directors. NMDC was founded and commenced trading in its own right on 1st January 1980.

We are a National Company owned 40% by the Government of Abu Dhabi and 60% by UAE Nationals and registered as a public company trading on the Abu Dhabi stock exchange with a registered paid up capital asset value of Dhs 169,000,000-00. Currently our business is conducted from our modern premises which include multi-discipline workshops, slip ways and a fully support administration and technical departments located in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi with subsidiary office in Zayed the Second St, Abu Dhabi.
