Job description / Role
Our Multi National Project & Commercial Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Contracts Manager to join their team in Abu Dhabi working on major new build hospitality, residential, commercial and mixed use projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Contracts Manager with a recognised Design, Project Management or Cost consultancy company background. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential as is full project life cycle experience in pre and post contract works, MRICS would be highly advantageous.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed with our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountabilities include ensuring project fees, contracts, variations for projects are properly drafted, negotiated, documented, and recorded.
- Reviewing fees and bids from a commercial perspective (terms, liability and insurance).
- Supporting project leaders resolve commercial issues.
- Business management best practice:
- Evaluating and processing variations submitted by consultants and contractors in line with contractual agreements.
- Administering and overseeing changes by consultants and contractors in alignment with the client's Change Management procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with contract requirements for insurance policies and bank guarantees (bonds).
- Reviewing and assessing claims related to extensions of time (EOT) and associated prolongation costs.
- Conducting payment valuations and preparing accurate payment certificates.
- Compiling and analyzing monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and accruals.
- Finalizing project accounts, including preparing the final payment certificate and coordinating the release of bank guarantees.
- Supporting the technical site team with day-to-day contractual matters.
- Drafting memos regarding the release of retention and bonds, adhering to the company’s procedures.
- Assisting in resolving disputes, managing project costs during execution, and administering change orders and claims.
- Preparing and managing contractual correspondence as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of extensive experience in contract management within the construction, engineering, or real estate development industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional membership (RICS) is a plus but not required
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex, high-value contracts.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, construction law, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to professional excellence.
Salary:
AED
40,000 to 45,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
