Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This position reports to the Contracts Manager for Supply Chain and is responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of clinical and non-clinical supply chain contracts, including contracts for medical equipment and related supplies, product purchases, and services. Responsibilities include preparing first draft agreements based on templates, preparing redline drafts of contracts, and working with the Legal services provider to ensure that all legal contract requirements are met.

This position will function as an important liaison to vendor company representatives. Some training of Sourcing Division staff related to contract drafting is also included in the job responsibilities for this position.

The individual in this position will serve as a resource within the Department of Contracting, Logistics and Supply Chain for questions and issues arising in connection with contract terms, processes, procedures and systems. The person in this role is also responsible for facilitating process improvements and participating in departmental planning and implementation of strategic goals.

The Contract Specialist will be proactive and detail oriented, i.e., an individual with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients to achieve the business and operational goals and objectives, while identifying and managing risk. The ideal candidate is a team player with a great attitude and the ability to balance competing priorities. This individual also utilises critical thinking skills to interpret the information necessary for reviewing and drafting agreements and can plan a course of action for addressing issues.

Salary:
AED 9,000 to 10,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Competencies:
Knowledge of and experience with the drafting of contracts and related negotiations, contract/case/document management systems and contracting strategies is required. Knowledge of the healthcare industry in UAE, capital purchasing regulations, group purchasing strategies and UAE contract laws is required.

Skills:
High level of skill to analyze and draft contracts and develop contracting strategies. Advanced interpersonal skills to interact with internal stakeholders and vendors. Excellent problem-solving skills mandatory. Training skills are also required. Exercise a high level of independent analytical and problem solving to develop contracting strategies to provide a competitive advantage for the purchase of healthcare equipment, products and services.

Key Demographic Requirements - applicants must be:
Able to join immediately. Residing in the UAE. Minimum Years of Experience: 4. Excellent to strong level of spoken and written English. Arabic language, spoken and written is considered an advantage.
