The job of a Cost Auditor is to ensure that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information. Maximize associate productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests. Assist in the inventory management and ongoing maintenance of hotel operating equipment and other assets.
The Cost Auditor manages costs proactively based on key performance indicators, works with the respective Heads of Department as appropriate. Understands thoroughly Hyatt Hotels Corporation objectives in Cost Audit as to provide an effective auditing system for the activities of the Materials Management division.
You shall provide Heads of Departments with the cost figures necessary for them to operate their individual profit center profitably. Ensures accurate data input by operation level personnel.
Fully conversant with operation of the Materials Department, i.e. receiving, purchasing, issuing, storing and commissary kitchen. Fully familiar with internal control procedures. Ensures that all purchase requests, other than inventory items, are approved by the Hotel Manager and Cluster Director of Finance.
Focus attention on improving productivity levels and the need to prudently manage utility/payroll costs within acceptable guidelines ensuring optimum deployment and energy efficiency of all equipment.

About the Company
Hyatt was founded by Jay Pritzker in 1957 when he purchased the Hyatt House motel adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport. Over the following decade, Jay Pritzker and his brother, Donald Pritzker, working together with other Pritzker family business interests, grew the company into a North American management and hotel ownership company, which became a public company in 1962. In 1968, Hyatt International was formed and subsequently became a separate public company. Hyatt Corporation and Hyatt International Corporation were taken private by the Pritzker family business interests in 1979 and 1982, respectively. On December 31, 2004, substantially all of the hospitality assets owned by Pritzker family business interests, including Hyatt Corporation and Hyatt International Corporation, were consolidated under a single entity, now Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
