The project:
Seeking a Cost Consultant with a flair for precision in cost planning and estimating, adept in crafting detailed pricing documents. Your expertise will be pivotal in collaborating with top-tier international designers to ensure the seamless fusion of opulence and value in our ultra-luxury residential and hospitality projects. • You will support cost planning including ownership of and presenting cost plans to clients and internal stakeholders.
• You will support the procurement process, ensuring stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation are performed effectively.

• You will guide Assistant Cost Consultants and other junior team members to identify and execute opportunities that improve cost management procedures, templates and products to enhance services provided to stakeholders.
You’ll be responsible for:
• Conducts feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, and writing and undertaking procurement reports.
• Applies the value management techniques at the outset of a project.
• Manages, estimates, and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
• Assists in procurement and selection of main contractor.
• Prepares contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licenses and assists in formal execution by the appropriate parties.
• Advises on the administration of the terms of the building contract.
• Measures and provides valuations of the work carried out and adjusts variations in accordance with the terms of the contract and agrees with the contractor.
• Provides cost control and reporting services during the contract.
• Prepares financial reports for the client in the form and at the frequency required.
• Identifies all costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client charges.
• Participates in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers.
• Advises on the issue of certificates of practical completion and ensures that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
• Advises on the issue of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with any requirements relating to completion, submissions, and approvals.
• Delivers improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change.
• Provides guidance and direction to Assistant Cost Consultant and other junior team members.
• Provides informal mentoring/training to junior members of the team.
• Seeks opportunities for continuous improvements/improving working processes.
• Develops effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Manages stakeholders.
• Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and shares responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Requirements:
You’ll need to have:
• Experience working in the United Arab Emirates is essential for client approval.
• CostX and NRM experience.
• Proven experience in cost consultancy.
• Cost planning, budgeting, and estimating experience.
• Sound understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken and implications of risk of failure to deliver.
• Understanding different types of contracts including the method of measurement.
• Negotiation skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Digitally Competent.
You’ll also have:
• Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
• Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent), or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
• Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law, and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
• Experience of managing parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
• Experience of developing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
