Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Sales & operations Management
• Review and analyse store/counter sales against budgets and self and team performance on KPIs to identify opportunities to increase sales and achieve sales targets
• Targets opportunities with the greatest potential for producing results
• Work with Retail Manager to identify and implement strategies to manage controllable expenses to drive profitability
• Create rosters that are within allocated wage budgets and submit on time for review and approval
• Handle cash and manage the banking in an appropriate and responsible manner
• Escalate any issues within store/counter to Retail Manager (e.g maintenance, cleaning etc)
• Encourage team to identify improvements and/or modifications to processes and systems, sharing these ideas for improvement with Retail Manager
• Ensure opening and closing responsibilities are completed according to the set SOPs and security guidelines
• Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
• Order and receive stock in a timely and effective manner
• Implement strategies to prevent stock loss, including educating the team, monitoring store activity and escalate any issues to the Retail Manager
• Prepare for and conduct store stocktakes in a timely and effective manner

Customer experience & product management
• Ensure Aesop approach to customer service and consultations is upheld and demonstrated at all times
• Educate team members on Aesop’s approach to customer service and consultations
• Whilst working on the floor alongside Retail Consultants, coach them in how to sell and conduct themselves in the retail spaces
• Identify customer service issues and potential barriers that impact the customer experience.
• Use understanding of customer needs and Aesop’s approach to set priorities, make decisions, and take actions that create and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Resolve customer complaints in a timely and effective manner, escalating any critical issues to the Retail Manager
• Stand for extended periods of time and lift of up to 15kg
• Work with Retail Manager to improve product performance and return on floor space
• Be aware of the marketing and promotional initiatives and assist in shopping events
• Assist Retail Manager in maintaining relationships within the local community and participate in events
• In partnership with the Retail Manager, proactively build and develop new and existing business relationships to identify opportunities for driving sales
• Coordinate brand, public Relations and marketing store visits with the Retail Manager
• Adhere to the standards of store and product presentation
• Understand and meet Aesop’s dress and grooming standards

Self-Development

• Actively network and identify potential candidates
• Prepare for and participate in bi-annual performance conversations
• Seek out feedback on performance
• Actively participate in training and implement learning on shop floor
• Establish challenging goals for self and others to achieve business results.

People Management
• Create a positive and harmonious work environment by openly and effectively communicating with other colleagues
• Engage and involves team members to clarify issues and causes and collaboratively develops a plan
• Maintain effective, regular and Aesop appropriate communication with colleagues
• Share suggestions for improvement and expresses confidence in the team members
• Manage team’s performance and confirm individual’s commitment and buy-in to the agreed performance goals.
• Prepare for and participate in bi-annual performance conversations with team members
• Establishes action plan and monitors progress and results.
• Share communication received from the Retail Manager and the brand with the team members when required in a timely manner
• Complete all delegated administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintain proficient computer skills and systems knowledge

Requirements

• Preferably high school graduate
• Minimum Experience
• 3+ years’ experience in retail, hospitality or customer facing role. Ideally working with skincare products, spa environment or luxury hospitality environment in a supervisory role.
